Emphasis
must be made on the fact that, prior to any dental procedure, a
comprehensive examination and any necessary radiographs of the dentition
and supporting structures must be performed to ensure a healthy,
comfortable, and optimal treatment outcome. Of course, severe dental
emergencies sometimes arise and are treated accordingly.
Cosmetic
Dentistry
The
Zoom!
In-Office Whitening System
will make your teeth dramatically whiter in less than an hour. The
procedure is simple. It begins with a short preparation to cover
your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. The Zoom!
Clinician then applies the proprietary Zoom! Whitening Gel, which
was designed to be used with a specially designed light. The
Zoom! light and gel work together to gently penetrate your
teeth, breaking up stains
and discoloration. With proper care your smile will sparkle
for years.
Bleaching
(tooth whitening): Where
molds of your teeth are made and a special tray fabricated, custom
fitted to your mouth. A safe, effective whitening gel is then placed
in the tray and is worn at night for about three weeks in the privacy
of your own home.
Bonding:
Where decay, defective restorations, and chipped or broken teeth
are meticulously restored to function, utilizing a natural-tooth-colored
resin, which is bonded to existing enamel to provide an aesthetic
alternative to "silver fillings".

Veneers:
Where thin shells of ceramic are adhered to the front surfaces of
teeth after the enamel has been prepared. Veneers can enhance teeth
that are severely discolored, damaged, misaligned, or poorly shaped.
This is the most esthetic and durable of the cosmetic options and
can be accomplished in two visits to the office.

Implants
The new millennium brings with it the dental technological
marvel of implants. Teeth which have been lost can now be replaced
without removable appliances (partial dentures) or bridges (which
involve preparation of adjacent, perfectly undamaged teeth ). This
technique is when a biologically-compatible metal (titanium) is
placed surgically within the bone where the tooth (teeth) was lost.
Four to six months later, the missing tooth is then replaced with
a wonderful, new tooth which fits onto the dental implant. It's
like growing a new tooth in about six months!

Crowns
& Bridges
Yes, Dr. Barbaro believes in those too! Teeth that
are in need of significant rebuilding or missing may need the treatment
options of crowns and/or bridges. These can be completed in two
or three office visits, usually within two to four weeks, respectively.
